Site Hush opens an incident after three consecutive failed checks. Two consecutive successful checks confirm recovery. Check results, incident state and notification delivery are separate things.
From one failure to an incident
- The first failed check starts verification. It is not a confirmed incident by itself.
- Further failed checks verify the problem.
- The third failure opens an incident. An active Slack rule may then send a DOWN notification.
Confirmation checks run in addition to the normal interval. Queue, network or host limits may delay them. The app does not promise a fixed detection time for every failure.
Read the evidence before acting
Open the incident and read its timeline, latest check and Observed error. This may be an unexpected HTTP status, a connection failure or a timeout. Check whether the monitoring chain is delayed too.
A successful HTTP check does not verify the whole user journey. V1 checks from one region and has no published SLA. Monitoring delayed does not mean the website is down. An internal probe failure must not count as a customer failure.
When the incident recovers
The first successful check after confirmed downtime starts recovery verification. The second successful check resolves the same incident. A new failure during verification keeps it open.
Pausing, archiving or changing the check policy may close an incident administratively. This is not evidence that the website responds again and must not appear as verified recovery.
Check notification delivery separately
Read delivery status on the incident page: waiting, failed and delivered are different outcomes. An open incident without a Slack message may result from disabled notifications, a missing channel or a delivery failure.
Check the account, monitor and integration using the Slack guide. A successful integration test proves that test was delivered, not that every future incident notification will always arrive.
Next step
Fix the observed website problem and follow the next check result. Use Check now if you have edit permission. Do not disrupt a customer's website to exercise alerts; use your own approved test website.
